Our Family Department supports parents and family members through some of the most difficult situations — and we explain everything in simple, clear language.

Here’s what we can help you with:

PLO Meetings
Meetings with Social Services when they’re worried about a child’s safety. You don’t have to attend alone — we can be there with you.

Emergency Protection Orders (EPOs)
Urgent court orders when a child needs immediate protection.

Care Orders & Supervision Orders
Decisions about whether a child stays at home, lives with family, or is supervised by Social Services.

Special Guardianship Orders (SGOs)
Long-term arrangements allowing family members to care for a child when parents can’t.

Representation in court & at Local Authority meetings
We speak up for you, explain the process, and make sure your voice is heard.

Support with Legal Aid applications
We’ll help you apply — and in care proceedings, Legal Aid is automatically available.
