Fees Charged by the Office of the Public Guardian (‘OPG’):
£92 for each LPA (exemptions/reductions are available on OPG registration fees depending on your circumstances)
A grant of Probate is required where there is property in the deceased’s estate and/ or where money held in the deceased’s bank account/s exceeds the limits set by the individual’s bank. We can obtain a Grant of Probate or Letters of Administration (the term used where there is no Will) on your behalf or we can deal with the full administration of the estate.
The full administration includes closing the deceased`s bank accounts, paying any liabilities, dealing with the property, the administration of the Will and payment of legacies.

Timescales:
The usual timescales for obtaining a grant of Probate will depend on how complex the estate is and any Inheritance Tax implications. We estimate that it could take around 4-6 months to obtain the grant of Probate however, this is subject to change due to Covid and delays.
