Gareth Jones is standing for election for the criminal seat for council at the Law Society

Gareth Gwyndaf Jones qualified as a solicitor in 2004 and became joint owner of Gomer Williams & Co Ltd in 2012, alongside Juliet Phillips-James. Gareth has been an integral part of the success of the firm since 2012. The firm has grown from a small single practice through to a firm providing legal services across South Wales, employing over 50 individuals. The catalyst for success has been the dedication, hard work and employee culture developed throughout the years. Gareth has been the driving force ensuring the very best legal advice is provided, alongside ensuring the welfare of employees remains a core value. The firm is one of the biggest providers of legal aid locally, ensuring the correct level of support for the community, alongside its dedication to providing the highest level of private law. The firm is renowned locally as a changemaker in the legal sector for its fluid approach towards technology, welfare, growth and expanding practice areas. His focus continues to driver the firm towards providing an ever-expanding practice area. The firm has strong growth plans to expand across South Wales. His success for far is a testament to his dedication to the profession. Recently Gareth was successful in overturning cuts in police station fees. The cuts would result in a significant drop in the local communities’ access to legal services as the cuts would result in operational and financial difficulties for local firms to adequately provide legal services. Gareth will continue to review the challenges individuals have in access to law, and will continue to find dynamic ways to improve overall service delivery.
