The Legal 500 assesses the strengths of law firms in over 150 jurisdictions.

The rankings are based on a series of criteria, highlighting the practice area teams who are providing the most cutting edge and innovative advice to corporate counsel. Research is based on feedback from 300,000 clients worldwide, submissions from law firms and interviews with leading private practice lawyers.

When reviewing the performance of a firm or department, using various criteria; the focus is on the bench strength of the team (including partners and associates), and the consistency of quality of the individuals within the team. The assessment is influenced by all the things that make the complete practice in that field.
